The series is arranged alphabetically by county and broken down further by cemetery, with an index listing all of the cemeteries represented at the beginning of each county. The second series consists of research by Wayne and Alta Guyant including cemetery inscriptions and clippings of obituaries, primarily from the 1970s and 1980s. Also included are several reels of microfilm containing burial indexes for various counties. The headstone inscriptions from the cemeteries in each county are divided by township. Each county has some general records associated with it, including maps, lists of cemeteries, and other countywide records such as census and death records. The series is arranged alphabetically by county and then by place thereunder. The first series consists of papers relating to the Surname Index Chapter Records Division (SURCH) aimed to gather information pertaining to cemeteries, including headstone inscriptions and death and burial records. The records of the Wisconsin State Old Cemetery Society (WSOCS) are divided into three series.
